Caroline Estelle is originally from New Orleans, Louisiana. She graduated from Penn State University with a BFA in drawing and painting. She is a feminist figurative painter working primarily in oil or gouache. Her work focuses on contradictory societal pressures that determine how women choose to aesthetically present themselves. Inspired by “fashion fantasy” proportions in fashion illustration, her figures appear distorted, uncanny, and grotesque. She is currently living in Phoenix, Arizona and is in her second year of graduate studies at Arizona State University.
